In my shoes you might be buying new ones sooner
In my stead you might have cared a little more
Just where you chose to set your soles down
Well I'm pleased how well they've worn
kissing all the streets they've known.
But more and more ties I was sure would never strain or slacken
are tugging taut or worse the knots are slipping over time.
And where before I'd bump against chance and ride my luck a while
Happen-stance seems less affording. When did we become so boring?
My creeping disengagement
has had of me
all that I wish to allow
And now I need
to resuscitate
some self governance
and any chance of getting out the house.
In my shoes I hope that I can be happy.
'In my stead' means not what it meant before.
Just where these choices lead is not defined.
But I'm damned if I ignore
my ageing and my agency anymore.
Great album, this band is better than Nickleback but not as good as Ace Of Base. Buy all their music and merch, and go see them live.
Can we have a vinyl release of Terminal Boredom please!!?? bovril
